Estas três telas são feitas de kombucha. Após um longo processo para que este scoby se desenvolvesse, com muitas tentativas e erros, comecei a criar, aos poucos, paralelos entre a minha realidade e a desta cultura de bactérias e leveduras. Estes corpos deixaram de ser apenas o material para criar algo: eles próprios eram algo que eu criei e alimentei, com necessidades e preferências para crescer. Crescem tão rápido.
Esta envolvência permitiu levantar questões sobre como é que se estabelecem relações, o que significa dar para receber algo em troca. Serão todas as relações desequilibradas?
Após várias situações performativas que pretendiam ilustrar esta relação de trocas, fui tecendo paralelos entre marcas e cicatrizes, camadas e pele, contaminação e perda, cuidado e maternidade. Estas realidades foram exploradas através do toque e do paladar, adquirindo diferentes texturas que agora se encontram nesta pele, esticada, onde são projetados fragmentos deste processo, em que te dei, para depois to tirar.

These three canvases are made of kombucha. After a long process to get this scoby to develop, with a lot of trial and error, I began, little by little, to create parallels between my reality and the one of this culture of bacteria and yeast. These bodies were no longer, just the material to create something: they themselves were something I created and nurtured, with needs and preferences to grow. They grow so fast.
This involvement raised questions about how relationships are established, what it means to give in order to receive something in return. Are ai/ relationships unbalanced?
After several performative situations that intended to illustrate this relationship of exchange, I was weaving parallels between marks and scars, layers and skin, contamination and loss, care and maternity. These realities were explored through touch and taste, acquiring different textures that are now found in this skin, stretched, where fragments of this process are projected, in which I gave you so much, to take it all away.

Diana Mordido Aires (Vila Nova de Milfontes, 1997) é especializada em Ourivesaria, pela Escola Secundária Artística António Arroio, estudou Pintura na Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (FBAUL) e é licenciada em Mediação Artística e Cultural pela Escola Superior da Educação de Lisboas (ESELx). Estagiou e colaborou com diferentes organizações culturais -Atelier Concorde, Casa das Histórias Paula Rego, Cultivamos Cultura, Fundação Eugénio de Almeida – Centro de Arte e Cultura, RH 1. É nestes contextos, e na sua prática artística, que explora a interdisciplinaridade e o conceito de “território”, ao produzir discursos, dinâmicas e atividades que pretendem aproximar diferentes quotidianos e linguagens. É co-fundadora e Presidente da Associação Portuguesa de Mediação Artística e Cultural. Desde 2019 trabalha com a Cultivamos Cultura, onde desenvolve projetos educativos e é responsável pela coleção.

Diana Mordido Aires (Vila Nova de Mi/fontes, 1997) is specialized in Jewellery, by Escola Secundária Artística António Arroio, studied Painting at Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (FBAUL) and has a degree in Artistic and Cultural Mediation by Escola Superior da Educação de Lisboas (ESELx). She has worked as a intern and collaborated with different cultural organisations -Atelier Concorde, Casa das Histórias Paula Rego, Cultivamos Cultura, Fundação Eugénio de Almeida – Centro de Arte e Cultura, RHI. lt is in these contexts, and in her artistic practice, that she explores interdisciplinarity and the concept of “territory’; by producing discourses, dynamics and activities that aim to bring together different daily lives and languages. She is co-founder and President of the Portuguese Association of Artistic and Cultural Mediation. Since 2019 she has been working with Cultivamos Cultura, where she develops educational projects and is responsible for the collection.
